Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some answers to common questions about adopting puppies from Avalon Hills Puppies. If you still have questions, please reach out and we’ll be happy to answer you!

Where are your puppies raised?

Our puppies are raised in our home, not in a commercial kennel. They are surrounded by daily family life, gentle handling, and constant care.

How often do you breed?

We are a boutique, limited breeding program. Each litter is carefully planned with health, temperament, and quality as our top priorities.

How are your puppies socialized?

Puppies receive daily handling, early neurological stimulation (ENS), and age-appropriate socialization to build confidence and resilience.

Do your puppies receive 24-hour care?

Yes. Because our puppies are raised in our home, they receive around-the-clock monitoring and care.

Are your breeding dogs health tested?

Yes. All breeding dogs undergo comprehensive health and genetic testing.

What veterinary care do your puppies receive?

Puppies receive age-appropriate vaccinations, regular deworming, and a veterinary wellness exam before going home.

When can puppies go home?

Puppies typically go home between 8-10 weeks of age, depending on development.

Do you offer a health guarantee?

Yes. Each puppy is placed with a written health guarantee and lifelong breeder support.

Can we visit the puppies?

Visits are limited and by appointment only to protect puppy health. Virtual visits are always available.

What comes with our puppy?

Each puppy goes home with health records, a starter care guide, and ongoing breeder support.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept PayPal, Venmo, and cash payments.

Why do you list a price range instead of one set price?

We believe each puppy should be viewed as an individual. While puppies within a litter are often similar, each one develops at their own pace and has unique traits. Using a price range allows us to fairly evaluate each puppy and make thoughtful placement decisions without focusing on trends or labels.
